The CFO leads a team of directors and managers who support many of the non-academic operations of the school.  Responsibilities include budget management, ensuring effective and efficient operations, employee management and performance evaluation.   The CFO is responsible for all financial activities including, but not limited to, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, long range forecasts, salary administration, union negotiations, employee benefit administration and property, casualty and liability insurance negotiations.

The CFO is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records that serve as the basis for the annual financial and retirement plan audits and the preparation of the IRS Form 990, Form 990-T as well as ensuring compliance with all state, federal and local tax filings – including approximately 35 state income tax returns.  The CFO works closely with the advancement office to ensure the proper accounting of gifts and pledges and will be expected to be a key team member for all future construction projects.   A few key attributes of Breck’s new CFO include: ● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required ● Minimum 7 years of experience that includes experience at the senior level of an organization required ● Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required ● CPA certificate or advanced degree such as an MBA preferred ● Experience in nonprofit accounting, endowments and fund accounting preferred.
