Don Taylor

As the cofounder of CohenTaylor Executive Search, Don Taylor brings a wealth of expertise.  For 35 years, Don’s leadership roles focused on non-profit fund development, including strategy, planning, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive programs in human services, education and healthcare. He has served on executive management teams or as an executive director at The Minneapolis Foundation, Courage Center, the Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota), the School of Divinity at the University of St. Thomas, and the Laura Baker School.

Don has also led the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Minnesota Chapter, as a board member and past president, and was named Outstanding Professional Fundraiser of the Year in 2005.  He also chaired the board of AFP’s International Foundation headquartered in D.C. He currently participates in AFP’s IDEA Committee (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access), introducing professionals of color to nonprofit careers in fundraising. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Therapy from the College of St. Teresa and an MBA in Nonprofit Management from the University of St. Thomas.

Currently, Don is in a special counsel role with CohenTaylor, providing limited consultation to the firm in new business development while acting as the firm’s representative in efforts with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP/Minnesota Chapter) and Minnesota Private CollegeFund (MPCF).
